Academic Freedom and Intellectual Diversity
The Faculty and Administration of Gordon College are committed to maintaining an academic environment that welcomes free expression and diverse intellectual viewpoints. Gordon faculty members are entitled to full freedom of expression in teaching, research and publishing, subject only to those restrictions that are imposed by professional ethics, but they are careful not to introduce into their teaching controversial matter which has no relation to their subject.
Gordon students enjoy similar freedoms; they are encouraged to freely and respectfully air their own opinions as they learn to develop the skills of critical inquiry needed to explore and evaluate competing claims and different perspectives.
