ADP® JAVA REQUIREMENTS
A PC MUST have Java 1.6.0_06 (JRE) installed to use several of the ADP products. If you do not have the correct version of Java for EV5 and/or eTime, you will likely have technical difficulties using these and other ADP products. Follow the instructions below to configure your PC with the correct version of Java. If you need assistance please contact the Gordon College Computer Services Department.
- It has been reported that multiple versions of Java on your computer can cause problems. Uninstall any older versions of Java using Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
- Click Download JRE from the web page at http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/6u6/index.html
Select Windows as the platform then download and install the offline installation for Windows (jre-6u6-windows-i586-p.exe)
Below are some other recommendations that can help prevent common issues:
- Ensure that eTime is used in its own Internet Explorer window (avoid multiple window tabs)
- Avoid navigating to a different web application from eTime (close the browser)
- Make sure any pop-up blockers in Internet browser are disabled.
- If you receive errors in ADP, try closing out of ALL Internet Explorer windows and re-open the ADP portal in a single window.
- Disable Java automatic updates under the Java Control Panel as shown below.
