Softball Splits First Conference Series
The Gordon College softball team split their first conference series of the season today in Cuthbert as Andrew College posted a 4 - 3 win in the first game of the doubleheader. It would take extra innings in the second game but the Highlanders escaped with an 8 - 7 victory. GC will remain on the road as they travel to Dothan, Alabama,for two games on Sunday (March 21) against Wallace Community College. The teams are scheduled to play at 2 p.m. eastern, 1 p.m. central, weather permitting.
03. 18. 2010Spring Break Trip Successful For Softball
How did you spend your spring break? As far as the Gordon College softball team, they were able to enjoy a few days at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Before you get the wrong impression, it was not all fun and sun. The Highlanders played seven games in three days and posted an impressive 6 – 1 record. The trip may not have been quite as relaxing for the squad but it was a success! GC outscored their opponents 41 to 7 and the defense was supported by strong pitching performances from Maegan Phillips, Lacee Landrum, and Angela Barkman.
02. 25. 2010GC Returns Home For DH
The 2010 softball season has already been a challenge for Gordon College. The weather has not always been inviting for an outdoor sport and the conditions have already forced the cancellation of one tournament in February. However, the games that have been played give Head Coach Ally Carter-Hattermann a glimpse of what the season could hold for the Highlanders in the future.

The Gordon College Women's Softball team was scheduled to play tomorrow (Saturday) in the Darton College Tournament. Due to the excessive amount of rain, the event has been cancelled.
02. 04. 2010Highlanders Split Opening Series
Sunny skies greeted the Gordon College softball team on Wednesday as they opened the 2010 season at Middle Georgia College. It took an extra inning of play but the Highlanders won their first game of the season 5 – 4. MGC rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning to score two runs and extend the game. The eventual winning run was plated by freshman Kamarin Moon. Sophomores Angela Barkman and Taylor Wilkes combined for six hits in the game while freshman Laura Daughtrey hit a homerun on her first collegiate at bat.
02. 03. 2010Softball Opens Season Today
The 2010 Gordon College Women’s Softball team will officially begin their spring season today as they travel to Middle Georgia College for an afternoon doubleheader in Cochran. After a very productive fall, the Highlanders are looking forward to this year’s season. Three very talented freshmen will join nine sophomores from last year’s squad including All-Region performers Corby Holmes and Dixie Stewart.
01. 19. 2010Softball Signing Date Produces Results
January 15th was the first official signing date for women’s softball and it proved to be quite a day for Gordon College! In front of family and friends, ten young ladies signed on the dotted line to be a Highlander in 2010-2011. It was the culmination of long recruiting hours by Head Coach Ally Carter-Hattermann along with assistants Dana Jackson and Steve Turner.
10. 15. 2009Six Highlanders Earn NFCA Acadmic All-American Honors.
Six softball players earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American Scholar-Athlete honors for their efforts in the classroom during the 2008-09 academic year.
08. 01. 2009Amanda Jones Named NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American
Jones leads the way with a perfect 4.0 while the rest of the 2009 Highlander softball team was recognized by the NJCAA for their academic excellence.
